Easter experience

On Wednesday 16th March the KS1 children took part in the Easter experience.

The year 1 children all had a go at painting some banners about the Easter story.  We had three to paint and another three are being painted by the Junior school.  Each banner shows a part of the Easter story and they will be displayed in Christ Church over the Easter time.  They look amazing so if you get chance pop into Christ Church and have a look.

The year 2 children went over to the church and participated in the Easter experience by listening to a talk from Tracie about the Easter story.  They then got to experience some of the events that happened.  They broke bread at the last supper, we tied ribbons to the tree in the church grounds to help us think about something we wanted to be better at.  At another station there was a small fire burning and they threw in some twigs to represent the fact that God forgives us.  They also looked at three crosses on the corner of the church yard and were reminded of the walk to the cross, they then gathered some objects from on the ground and made crosses of our own.  There was also a tomb to represent Jesus's resting place and the story of how he came back to life, to remind us of new life they all planted sunflower seeds around the ground.
