  • Inspired to live life to the full - Rock Steady Concert

    Thu 14 Dec 2023 G Jones

Today we had the absolute pleasure of watching some of our Y1 and 2 children performing with their Rocksteady rock groups. You may see on some faces what looks like boredom on their faces but I can assure you they were just totally focused on their roles and nothing was going to distract them!

What a wonderful opportunity for our children and huge thanks to Ali for teaching them so brilliantly and Miss Gould for organising the event

  • Inspired to live life to the full - KS1 Theatre Trip

    Fri 08 Dec 2023 A Martin

The Y2s had an amazing time at the Old Vic theatre, watching the stunning production of the Four Seasons. One little girl told me that she was so excited because she’d never been to theatre before and after the show she’s told me that when she is older she wants to perform there.

That is exactly why things like theatre trips are so important and we are so grateful to the Friends for funding a truly magical experience and to Mrs Rylands for organising it.

  • Courageously learning - Nativity Performances

    Fri 08 Dec 2023 G Jones

Key Stage 1 Classes absolutely wowed us with their amazing Nativity performances this week and we are so proud of the courageous learners they have been. Thank you so much to you all for coming along to watch and to the staff for working so hard to make these performances so wonderful

  • Inspired to live life to the full - EYFS Christmas Panto!

    Mon 04 Dec 2023 G Jones

Our EYFS classes had such a super festive treat this afternoon thanks to our wonderful Friends team who funded The Little Things Theatre performance of ‘The Christmas Trolls’.

This is a local production and the children loved watching this enchanted story all about trolls who work in the toll house at the Clifton Suspension Bridge. They were absolutely gripped and their brilliant behaviour really told us how much they enjoyed it.

Thank you to Miss Gould for organising this lovely treat and once again to the Friends funding it.

  • Inspired to live life to the full - Christmas Tree Decorating

    Mon 04 Dec 2023 A Martin

Today every child at CCI chose the spot for their handmade decoration to go onto our Christmas tree. This is such a magical CCI tradition and started our week off so beautifully as the children sang whilst we decorated.

The children may tell you that Miss Evans saved the day and she certainly did as when we unravelled our tree lights we found they were broken so off she dashed to replace them and then quickly hung them on the tree just in time for Worship.

Thank you to the staff for getting the decorations made in time and for helping the children to hang these.

    Wed 29 Nov 2023 G Jones

Massive thanks to our families at Christchurch Infants site for fundraising with our Christmas tea towel activity so that RP SERVICES could transform our mud kitchen area! Very excited to let the children play in here! See the before and after pictures.

  • Caring Community - Sponsored Assault Course

    Fri 17 Nov 2023 A Martin

Here are some photos of the children enjoying the sponsored assault course last week to raise money for outdoor learning equipment for each class.

We are so grateful to our families for supporting the children to raise so much sponsorship and so far have raised over £1200!

It's not too late to send any sponsorship money in or to pay it on Parent Pay!

  • Inspired to live life to the full - Amazing Rangoli Artists!

    Thu 16 Nov 2023 G Jones

Look at these beautiful Rangoli patterns that Penguin Class created outside today! I had to capture them before the rain washed them away as the children worked so hard on them. Rangoli is an ancient art form from India and Rangoli patterns are drawn in homes and courtyards to celebrate occasions such as Diwali.

  • Courageously Learning - Challenge Support Partner Visit - Reading

    Tue 14 Nov 2023 A Martin

Today we had a visit from a Challenge Support Partner as part of our school improvement and she carried out a 'deep dive' into Reading and Phonics. I thought you may like to see some photos of the amazing reading provision and teaching that we saw across the school with 100% of children being seen to be on task and reading and writing independently using their phonics knowledge. Huge well done to Mrs Rylands, our Reading and Phonics lead, who skillfully led the visit and for being a highly effective and inspirational leader.

  • Courageously Learning - Brilliant authors!

    Wed 08 Nov 2023 G Jones

What wonderful writing we have seen from these amazing authors this week! They are all working so hard to record their ideas, improve their presentation and remember the many things we ask of them. Well deserved HT awards all round!
