Term 4

Week beginning 20th February 2017

In Collective Worship this week we thought about how important the Foundations of our lives are. We heard the bible story of The wise man who built his house upon the rock (Matthew chapter 7 verses 24-27) and how we can be like a wise builder and we can use the bible and our school values and all that they teach us not just when we are in school but at home and in our whole lives.

Week beginning 27th February 2017

Collective Worship - Mrs Osborne from CCJ led our Collective Worship on Tuesday continuing our theme of Courage. We focused on identifying which behaviour shows the most courage.

Week beginning 6th March 2017

Collective Worship has focused on being the best we can be in school and having the courage to do this. We welcomed Reverend Jo Vickery into school to lead our Worship on Tuesday and to strengthen our links with Christ Church.

Week beginning 13th March

It was a real pleasure to welcome all the Children and Staff over to Christ Church this week. We thought about recognising when we do the right thing and showing courage to do things we know are right even if we are a little uncomfortable, and that God will be with us if we ask for his guidance. We talked about some times when we have shown great courage and CCI has very brave children! Some children showed real courage by trying some foods they hadn't tried before even though some were a bit yukky!

We are thrilled to tell you that we have made a link with the Christian Charity Mission Direct so that we can support the work they are doing with schools in Uganda and give our children an insight into life for the children there.  This week they came to lead a Collective Worship to introduce their work to the children by showing video clips and photos of the empty shell that is currently the school. This will become a regular talking point for our children and we will be encouraging to think about how their lives are different. We hope you will help to support this link and would love to hear if you have any experiences you could share or of any ideas you have to fundraise. The website is www.missiondirect.org and we will also be creating a display in the hall for you to find out more.

Week beginning 20th March

This week we have been talking about Amy's journey and the courage she has shown. It was great to see Amy back in school on Thursday and talk to her about her amazing trip.

Week beginning 3rd April

Children heard the story of David and Goliath and we talked about the different sorts of courage David showed, moral courage in doing the right thing, physical courage in standing up to a large bully, social courage when the king thought he was too little and laughed at him and spiritual courage in believing that God would be there to support him. We have also been hearing and understanding the Christian message from the Easter Story.
