At the end of this term we will be saying goodbye to Margaret our Lollipop lady who helps the children cross the road between us and the Juniors. She has been part of our school team for the last five years and is now moving on to help the children at Stanbridge school. During a special assembly the School Council read out some of the words the children had written about how Margaret has helped them and then presented her with a card, some flowers, a lollipop and of course one of our special Christ Church bears. Chestnut class then sang a special song for her. We would all like to say a special thank you to Margaret for all her hard work in all sorts of weather and wish her well for the future.
We would like to share with you a letter that we received from Margaret:-
To Christchurch infants and juniors
Thank you for your good wishes I am sorry to be leaving you as I have enjoyed being your lollipop lady – our passing conversations and shared comments on the weather. It’s been a pleasure seeing your children grow up and sharing in their school life and events.
I’d like to thank the teachers and ancillary staff, for their friendship and for making me feel welcome.
Good luck to you all
From Margaret Hawkins
We are also saying goodbye to our sports coach Mr Smith at the end of the term. He has been working hard with the children to help them develop their sports skills during PE lessons and with our after school clubs. He is moving on to work with another school and we wish him good luck with his new challenge. He was presented with his leavers bear at the end of the Christmas party.
