Enquiry at CCI

What is an enquiry?

An enquiry is designed to provoke learners with a key question too big to answer in one go, but not so large that it cannot be understood. The purpose of an enquiry is to guide learners through a scaffolded process in order to answer the big question through a stimulating challenge that the children perform as independently as possible at the end of the set of linked experiences.

Below you will see the 'Whole school overview' of our enquiries for this year for Early Years (Reception) and Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and Year 2).

At the start of each term a set of enquiry overviews will be uploaded so that you can see what the children will be focusing on and how you may be able to support their learning at home.

You will also find links that will take you to a page about each states of being. On these pages you will be introduced to the lead for that state of being, find out how that state of being is organised through the enquiries and where the relevant objectives from the National Curriculum fit in. Over time, these pages will also showcase some examples of the children's work.
