Starting school with us

Welcome to CCI

Below you will find lots of information about starting school at Christ Church Infants. The CCI handbook (link below) has details about the structure of the day, how the school is managed and run as well as specific details about lunch, uniforms and swimming sessions. If after looking through the handbook you still have questions, please get in contact with our office team and they will do their best to answer them for you.

Welcome to our school community.  Our reception teachers would like to introduce themselves.

Welcome to Tiger Class

My name is Miss Robbins, I am a Reception teacher in Tiger Class and I am the Early Years Lead. I have been teaching for many years and I love meeting so many brilliant, enthusiastic, inspiring young people along the way. I love working at CCI because it feels like a family, all looking after each other, working together and sharing a lot of laughter every day.

When I am not busy being a teacher, I like to spend my time with my friends and family, going on walks to various places, shopping, going to the theatre or to a concert and even a little bit of gardening (when the weather is nice!)

My background is in Art and I love being creative, so a lot of the activities I enjoy most in school are when we can get a bit messy and explore textures and colours, using a variety of materials. Working outdoors and using the big, open spaces, brings so many opportunities for learning and hearing children having fun and enjoying what they are learning, makes it even better!

Welcome to Panda Class

Hello,

My name is Miss Gould and I will be the teacher in Panda Class. I have been lucky enough to work at Christ Church Infants for five years and I love coming to school everyday to see all of the brilliant children that we have here. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl and I always loved playing schools with my brothers and sisters but I was always the teacher in charge! I wonder if you like playing schools at home?

When I am not busy teaching, I really enjoy spending time with my family and my friends. We love going out for some nice food or going to the cinema. I have two brothers and one sister, so there is always someone to go out and have fun with at the weekend. I wonder what sorts of things you like doing at the weekends?

I am the lead Musician at school because I love listening and singing along to all sorts of Music. In my classroom there is usually Music playing in the background and you might spot me singing along to my favourite songs at lunchtimes! I lead the school Choir on a Friday and when you are in Year 1 and 2, you will get the chance to come along and learn some new songs and even some dance moves!

Welcome to Lion Class

Hello,

My name is Miss Essex and I will be your teacher, alongside Mrs Jenkins, in Lion Class. I work on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Mrs Jenkins works on Monday and Tuesday.

I have been teaching for over 17 years and absolutely love being a teacher and have always taught Reception and Year 1! I have been teaching at CCI for the past 4 years and love it here! My heart is definitely in the Early Years and I love seeing children learn through play, develop and grow at this very special time.  At CCI I am Lead Digital Engineer which means I love all things technology! I love how amazing technology can be in inspiring young learners and they often teach me new things too!

When I am not at CCI, my little boy, Toby keeps me very busy! He is 4 and is in Reception. I love spending weekends enjoying family days out and the holidays exploring more of the World! I have loved visiting beautiful far off places such as South Africa, Australia and the Caribbean!

Hello,

My name is Mrs Jenkins and I teach in Lion class alongside Miss Essex. I've been teaching for many years and have had the privilege of spending the last 9 years working at CCI! I absolutely love being a teacher because it enables me to work with so many enthusiastic, creative young minds who are excited to be in the amazing world in which we live.

When I am not in school , I enjoying helping to run my local Church's parent and Toddler group. I also love spending time with my family and friends. I particularly like taking our dog on long walks in the woods or the beach with my two children. I also love having family film nights together.

We are really looking forward to meeting you all soon and can’t wait to find out all about you too!

Miss Essex Mrs Jenkins
