We had the most amazing day building our Lego Logo thanks to the wonderful Luke and his team. The children worked so hard and were so delighted to see it coming together. We didn’t quite finish and I imagine Luke will have a busy weekend ahead of him but please do come along to see the finished result at the Brick show 3.2.24
Luke you are our Lego hero and we are so lucky to have you! Thank you to you and your brilliant volunteers and to our children for perservering and working so hard!
On Monday, Helen from Dog’s Trust visited CCI to teach the children about being Dog Smart. We learnt what to do if a dog runs towards us and we are standing up (fold arms over chest and turn away from the dog, standing still) and if knocked to the floor (roll up like a hedgehog).
Helen also taught the children what to do if they want to stroke a dog - ask the owner who will also check with the dog and then if allowed, gently stroke the dog’s shoulders and back not the face.
Look at these amazing fact files that Zebra Class have created about Kumi Primary School in Uganda as part of their enquiry ‘How are schools the same?’.
We were so impressed to see them being purposeful authors and plan to send these to the children at Kumi Primary along with some letters that the children are writing.
Giraffe Class worked so hard as artists this afternoon on their Arctic landscapes inspired by the Northern Lights.
They thought carefully about warm and cold colours and practised colour mixing and colour washes to create these beautiful scenes. They then carefully cut out silhouettes for the mountains and trees. Super creative work inspired by our beautiful world!
Our wonderful new art club started after school lead by Faye, one of our very talented parents. The children loved the sessions which will be running throughout This term.
