  • Goodbye to Katie Rankin Chair of The Friends

    Tue 13 Oct 2020

It is with much love that we say thank you and goodbye to Katie, who has been a fantastic chair to our friends committee for the past few years.  Katie has been instrumental in organising fun events that raise money for the school and bring us together as a school community and we will really miss working with her.  Katie – thank you for everything you have done for the children, staff and parents/carers at CCI – we will miss you!

  • Goodbye to Governors Nick Richley and Nick Lee

    Tue 13 Oct 2020

It has been a week of goodbyes for us as we also say a very sad goodbye to our Chair of Governors, Nick Richley, and our Chair of the Finance Committee, Nick Lee.  Nick Richley has been our Chair for 4 years and has been a Governor for 7 years.  He has provided inspirational leadership for the school and particularly the senior leadership team and has transformed how the Governors work as a team.  They are now always focused on the school vision and how they can support and challenge the school strategically and much of this is down to Nick.  We are extremely fortunate that Julie Wilkins, one of our parents in Penguin Class, has agreed to take on the Chair role and know that she will do an incredible job.  Nick Lee also leaves us now that his children are no longer at CCI (they are in Y5 now so he hung around for a bit!) and he leaves our governing body after bringing great deal of humour, knowledge and support to the team.  Both Nicks’ have been superb to work with and shall be greatly missed by our Governing body and the whole staff team.

  • YR 2021 admissions

    Tue 13 Oct 2020

The application process for reception children, 2021, is now open.  If your child was born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017, you must apply for them to start primary school in September 2021.  This is a very important decision and it is important that you read the South Gloucestershire Primary school admission guide before you apply.  Applications for primary school admission must be submitted no later than 15 January 2021. There is lots of information on the South Glos site: Apply for a school place here

  • Real Life Superheroes! 22/10/2020

    Thu 08 Oct 2020

Real life Super Hero dressing up day - Thursday 22nd October (last day of term for children)

To celebrate the end of our topic this term we are planning a fun-filled day in each class with practical real life super hero activities, and each class having their own focus depending on what they have been learning. This is when we’d usually invite families in to celebrate their learning but we can’t do this at the moment.

The staff are all going to dress up as real life superheroes such as NHS staff but children can go for any super hero costume you may have or outfits such as NHS staff, people who changed/made Black History such as Rosa Parks, firefighters, police officers, supermarket staff, refuse lorry drivers or even Captain Tom! Or be creative - anyone who is a hero to them!

You are very welcome to make donations of £1 to the school to help us with fundraising but this is not the point of the day. It is all about us celebrating having been back together, having fun whilst learning and ending term 1 in style.

Please do not feel you need to buy costumes, a cape made from a sheet and face painted mask would do!

The staff are bound to have some spare costumes too so if you are struggling please let us know.

Please DO NOT send baked beans, as they have more than enough of those though thanks.

  • World Teacher's Day!

    Mon 05 Oct 2020

Today is World teacher’s day and I couldn’t let it pass by without saying thank you to my amazing team of teachers. Every single one is superb and I would choose them all to teach my own children - something I don’t say lightly.

Happy World Teachers day to TeamCCI teachers, you are incredible!

  • Texts Home

Mon 05 Oct 2020 Lucy May

    Texts home

Staff are being asked to send a few texts home each day, to their class, to tell you how well your child has done that day in school.  (This will not be for your child every day!)  These are lovely to receive and a really good way for us to communicate with you now that we can't talk as easily face to face and they will be sent via the school app.  Please make sure you have downloaded this and pop to the office if you do not receive them.  We will send some trial texts on Monday to each class so you can see if it works.
