  • KS1 Special Guest as part of our enquiry 'Who helps who?'

Fri 23 Sep 2022 Mr Jones

This afternoon KS1 children were lucky enough to have a special visit from Bella-Bow’s dad. The new enquiry is ‘Who helps who?’ and as part of the enquiry the children needed to find out about people who help others. Ryan, who is a Specialist Firearms Police Officer, emailed to say that he would be willing to come in to talk to the children. The children in Year 2, each wrote a reply to Ryan's email and invited him to come in to answer their questions.

The children wrote, and asked, some great questions and clearly enjoyed learning more about his work. At the end of the session, many of the children said that they thought that they might like to be a police officer who helps people when they were old enough.

Thank you so much Ryan, the children so enjoyed hearing about your amazing job and we especially liked the part when you told them your most effective weapon was your voice. Thank you for inspiring the next generation of police officers!

  • Remembering Queen Elizabeth 2nd

Fri 09 Sep 2022 Mr Jones

Following the very sad news about the death of Queen Elizabeth 2nd , Mrs Martin led a special assembly for the Y1 and 2 children this morning to celebrate her life and long service to the country. The Reception classes don’t yet come into assemblies, but their teachers will talk to them about it if they ask any questions or mention it.

  • New Library

Fri 09 Sep 2022 Mrs Martin

We are still waiting for our new library furniture and books but it has been fantastic to see our Y1 and Y2 children enjoying the new library this week. They so enjoyed choosing different types of books and were literally pouring over them, completely absorbed when I popped in.

Here are some of Crocodile class spending their ‘Active Reading’ session in the library.

Each class will have a planned visit at least once a week and once it is furnished properly we plan to open it up to families to use and borrow books from.

  • Welcome back - Fun in the playground!

Mon 05 Sep 2022 Mr Jones

The children LOVED using the new playground markings at break time today (before the rain came!) and had such a brilliant time exploring it all with their friends. It really has given their playtimes a boost and we are very grateful to our wonderful Friends team.
