Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Massive thanks to our families at Christchurch Infants site for fundraising with our Christmas tea towel activity so that RP SERVICES could transform our mud kitchen area! Very excited to let the children play in here! See the before and after pictures.
Here are some photos of the children enjoying the sponsored assault course last week to raise money for outdoor learning equipment for each class.
We are so grateful to our families for supporting the children to raise so much sponsorship and so far have raised over £1200!
It's not too late to send any sponsorship money in or to pay it on Parent Pay!
Look at these beautiful Rangoli patterns that Penguin Class created outside today! I had to capture them before the rain washed them away as the children worked so hard on them. Rangoli is an ancient art form from India and Rangoli patterns are drawn in homes and courtyards to celebrate occasions such as Diwali.
Today we had a visit from a Challenge Support Partner as part of our school improvement and she carried out a 'deep dive' into Reading and Phonics. I thought you may like to see some photos of the amazing reading provision and teaching that we saw across the school with 100% of children being seen to be on task and reading and writing independently using their phonics knowledge. Huge well done to Mrs Rylands, our Reading and Phonics lead, who skillfully led the visit and for being a highly effective and inspirational leader.
What wonderful writing we have seen from these amazing authors this week! They are all working so hard to record their ideas, improve their presentation and remember the many things we ask of them. Well deserved HT awards all round!
Our budding engineers were challenged to make their own pumpkins tonight at Lego Club - look at these amazing creations! Great work engineers!
We are so lucky to be able to offer the children the opportunity to learn to play instrument and to perform in a rock band at CCI with the wonderful 'Rocksteady'. Here are a few photos of our Y1 and Y2 children to give you a flavour of what they do.
We were so lucky to receive a free day of drama workshops this week at CCI and every class really enjoyed themselves. Perform drama school came in on Thursday and ran free workshops for us and it was just what we needed on another wet day. The smiles speak for themselves!
If you are interested in accessing their workshops outside of school, you can contact them to arrange a free trial at perform.org.uk/try
Congratulations to our Hot Chocolate Award winners for Term 1 at CCI! These children have been demonstrating great attitudes to learning, always trying their best, behaving brilliantly and always being ready, respectful and safe.
