Goodbye to Reverend Jo Vickery

We had a special worship outside with Reverend Jo Vickery to say goodbye to him before he retires after 40 years as a vicar and 19 years at Christ Church in Downend.  The classes sat apart because we had plenty of space thanks to the glorious weather and it felt fairly momentous to talk to them as a whole school.  The behaviour of the children was absolutely stunning and I am so proud of the lasting impression they will have given Jo. Considering the field is usually a play space for them, then walked into their spaces wonderfully and sat and listened in such a calm way. Jo told the children that they are lucky to be at CCI but we are the lucky ones to have such incredible children. They have coped with so much in their lives and today coped with yet another change and different expectations and they stepped right up and did us proud. It was lovely to say goodbye to Jo in such a special way and we wish him and his family all the very best of luck.
