3 Tier Blended Learning Plan 2020-21

Tier 1 - A child is isolating/shielding for 2 weeks

  • Teacher shares class planning and checks in with a weekly email or phone call. The planning needs to show the differentiated level for that child.
  • Bug Club to be used to allocate reading books at the correct reading level.
  • Lined and squared paper to be provided.
  • If this is long term (longer than 2 weeks) a link to a weekly Collective Worship could be shared.

Tier 2 - A class closes and staff are well (if staff are unwell, school planning can just be shared)

  • Children to be sent home with squared and lined paper and a pack of paper resources. This should include phonics mats, number lines, paper numicon, base 10 and part whole models (possibly from Twinkl) and anything that is needed for lessons for a fortnight.
  • Teachers should take home flipchart paper, pens and blutack so that they can record themselves teaching inputs from home.
  • TAs will need to record a daily story so that the children are having input from them and sharing stories.  TAs may want to take home a selection of 10 stories to cover them for a 2 week isolation period.
  • Teachers will need to record a daily English, Maths and phonics/spelling lesson daily and email links of these to all families.  These need to include an input where learning is modelled, a directed and differentiated task for all (3 levels) and an explanation of when it should be carried out and how long it should take.  These may be played for children when they have access to devices and the internet and this may be different for all families.  They need to be uploaded to YouTube.
  • A daily email from teachers to each family in their class sharing daily plans with the lessons.  These need to be with families by 9am each day.  This email should also include links to games they can play online.
  • Bug Club and TT Rockstars/Numbots challenges to be set and promoted
  • Encourage parents to send us photos of home learning

Tier 3 - All schools close locally/nationally (apart from for critical worker children)

  • Rota of staff will remain in school to teach.  Mostly use TAs so that teachers can teach from home.
  • Year group staff can share the roles of recording lesson inputs, daily emails and planning. Key stage leads to organise this with HT.
  • A weekly plan of home learning for the week must be sent on the Friday of the previous week. This should have links for resources and online games within it and any worksheets etc.  Plans must also include one activity per afternoon such as Science, RE or Art.
  • A daily English, Maths and phonics/spelling input must be recorded and sent by 9am daily by email.
  • The TA should record a story/activity daily for the teacher to send with their daily email.
  • TAs could also record some differentiated group support under the direction of the teacher.
  • Head/DHT to record a weekly Collective Worship and share this with the whole school.
  • Weekly teams calls to be held with the whole class, teachers and TAs.
  • Bug Club and TT Rockstars/Numbots challenges to be set and promoted.
  • Encourage parents to send us photos of home learning
  • PP/SEN visits to support families at home with food and home learning.
