Our school vision statement 'A caring community • courageously learning • inspired to live life to the full' consists of three distinct elements and everything that we aim to do at CCI revolves around them. Our vision has been formulated by the various different stakeholders in our school community and has been written for everyone in our community . We all have an important part to play in living out our vision and values - making sure that they are more than just words on a page or a sign on a wall.
Our school vision is based on the Bible verse in John 10:10, where Jesus says, '...I have come that you may have life and have it to the full.' We believe that we shouldn't sleepwalk through life, but that we should make the most of every opportunity so that we can become the best version of ourselves and make a positive contribution to the world.
Within each of the three elements, we have identified the key values and aims listed below:
Aim: We want our children, parents, staff and governors to care for each other; to respect and trust each other and to encourage and listen to each other. We want the children to learn how to care for the wider world as responsible, kind and generous individuals putting the needs of others before their own.
Bible Verses linked to our values:
Friendship: Love you neighbour as yourself. (Luke 10:27)
Compassion: Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12)
Aim: We want our children to be courageous in learning and living, putting our values into practice with passion and commitment. We want them to have the courage to challenge and change the world around them for the better.
Bible Verses linked to our values:
Courage: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid...for the Lord your God will be with you. (Joshua 1:9)
Perseverance: I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)
Aim: We want to inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instil a life-long love of learning. We want our children to be inspired to be the very best they can be and have a real purpose in making the world a better place.
Bible Verses linked to our values:
Thankfulness: Always be thankful. (1 Thessalonians 5:16) Give thanks to Him and praise His name. (Psalm 100:4)
Respect: Show proper respect to everyone. (1 Peter 2:17)

Our community of Christ Church C of E Junior School, Christ Church Downend and the Church of England for Education are connected through our vision based on the Bible verse in John 10:10... Jesus said, "I have come that you may have life and have it to the full." Below you will find the vision statements for our communities and links to their vision pages on their websites.
At CCJ our school vision is ‘learning to live life in all its fullness’ which is based on our school bible verse from John 10:10 of ‘I have come in order that you might have life – life in all its fullness’. This is our driving aim; to ensure that every child in our care has the opportunities to experience learning in all its forms through a rich, vibrant and engaging curriculum and extra-curricular offer. We underpin our vision through the four pillars of value ourselves, engage with others, inspire awe in life and create the future.
Our vision is that we might become a community that together is ‘learning to live the life’. We believe that a major part of our role is to help each person find their niche in the life of the church and play their part in making a real difference in the community and wider world.
If ‘life’ is a gift then we want to know how to make the most of it. This is a life-long journey with secrets to be shared. God’s life is to be lived in the whole of our lives – the home, the work place, places where there is pressure and failure, places of rest and relaxation.
Our vision for education is deeply Christian, with Jesus' promise of 'life in all its fullness' at its heart.
In line with the Church of England's role as the established Church, our vision is for the common good of the whole community.
Educating for wisdom, knowledge and skills: enabling discipline, confidence and delight in seeking wisdom and knowledge, and developing talents in all areas of life.
Educating for hope and aspiration: enabling healing, repair and renewal, coping wisely when things go wrong, opening horizons and guiding people into ways of fulfilling them.
Educating for community and living well together: a core focus on relationships, participation in communities and the qualities of character that enable people to flourish together.
Educating for dignity and respect: the basic principle of respect for the value and preciousness of each person, treating each person as a unique individual of inherent worth.
Spirituality is a core component to ‘living life to the full’ (John 10:10) as the mind, body and soul
needs to be nurtured equally. It relates to fundamental questions about the meaning and
purpose of life which affect everyone and is not dependant on a religious belief. It is also
based on the search for ways to answer questions about life and a search for identity.
The four elements in our definition consist of:
Ourselves:
Others:
World:
Beyond:
In 2011, the government defined British Values as democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. We promote these values through our own school values, curriculum and enrichment activities. At Christ Church Infant School we take very seriously our responsibility to prepare children for life in modern Britain. We ensure that the fundamental British Values are introduced, discussed and lived through our Christian ethos and all we do. Our curriculum provides excellent opportunities to deepen and develop understanding. The school makes considerable efforts to ensure children have exposure to experience beyond their immediate environment. We take trips into the local community and beyond, and participate in a wide range of community events. We endeavour to give our children experience and understanding that gives them an excellent platform for embracing difference.

We now have our own school song, which was very kindly written by Belinda Stowe one of our Foundation Governors. The song helps the children to remember the 3 distict parts of our vision and the values that are held within each part. Click on the link below to see the words.
