We hope that your children have enjoyed their first few days in school and we have been so impressed at how they have settled into the new way of school life. If you are concerned or feel that your child needs a little support in understanding coronavirus, you may find this web link useful: https://booksbeyondwords.co.uk/
This site has free wordless books aimed at supporting children to understand the return to school under these new circumstances.
To support families with children starting school, we have written a blog of helpful tips and advice for school readiness. Please click on this link: https://receptioncci.blogspot.com/
School uniform is not compulsory, but most of our children do choose to wear it. Uniform does not have to have the logo on it, but if you require logo'd uniform then we use Initially Yours as our uniform supplier please visit their website to order:
All children can wear: pale blue, white, navy polo shirts or shirts. With navy blue cardigans or jumpers.
Most of our girls wear: pale blue gingham dresses, pinafores, skirts, city shorts in grey. socks, tights/leggings.
Most of our boys wear: grey shorts or trousers. Most children wear black school shoes.
We do ask that the PE kit is logo'd as we move through school there are some opportunities to represent the school.
PE kit can be shorts, joggers, leggings in Navy Blue. T-shirts should be the royal blue logo'd PE Tshirt and the logo'd hoodie's. The children will wear their PE kit into school on their PE days, increasing their session. PE trainers rather than 'daps' are preferable for the children.
My name is Miss Robbins, I am a Reception teacher in Tiger Class and I am the Early Years Lead. I have been teaching for many years and I love meeting so many brilliant, enthusiastic, inspiring young people along the way. I love working at CCI because it feels like a family, all looking after each other, working together and sharing a lot of laughter every day.
When I am not busy being a teacher, I like to spend my time with my friends and family, going on walks to various places, shopping, going to the theatre or to a concert and even a little bit of gardening (when the weather is nice!)
My background is in Art and I love being creative, so a lot of the activities I enjoy most in school are when we can get a bit messy and explore textures and colours, using a variety of materials. Working outdoors and using the big, open spaces, brings so many opportunities for learning and hearing children having fun and enjoying what they are learning, makes it even better!

My name is Miss Smith and I teach in Panda Class. I’ve been working at Christ Church Infant School for three years and I’ve loved every minute. My favourite part about being a teacher is teaching children new things but also listening to all the wonderful facts children know and teach me! Over the years, I’ve learnt so much about dinosaurs and sea creatures (especially sharks) from all the children I’ve taught. I wonder what amazing facts you will tell me soon!
When I am not in school, you’ll find me relaxing in the sunshine reading a book or chatting away with my family and friends- I do like to talk a lot! I feel really lucky to have a big family who I spend lots of time with outside of school. Our favourite thing to do together is FNTs, which stands for Friday Night Treats! That means every Friday we meet up to play fun card games and eat chocolate!
I love to see more of the wonderful world we live in and enjoy travelling in the summer holidays! My favourite place so far has to be Egypt. When I was there I slept out in the desert in just a sleeping bag! When it was night time, I couldn’t believe how many stars I could see in the sky! There were thousands shining so brightly! Do you have a favourite place too?

Hi! My name is Mrs Botteley and I work on a Monday and Tuesday in Lion Class. I have taught at CCI for 12 years and have taught in both Year 1 and Reception here. I absolutely love being a teacher, I think it’s the best job there is! Every day is different and because Reception is all about learning through play, we get to have lots of fun and learn lots of new things along the way!
I am a Mum of 2 children who are both now at school too, so I understand the worries you might be feeling about the transition into school life. Rest assured we will look after your children as if they were our own as CCI really is like one big happy family! My own children keep me and my husband busy and we love being outside, riding our bikes and looking after our pet guinea pigs!
When I have a little bit of free time I like to keep fit, read books, see my friends and family and travel. I can’t wait to get to know you and find out the things that you like to do!
See you in September!

My name is Mrs Mills and I will be your teacher, alongside Mrs Botteley, in Lion Class. I work on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I joined CCI three years ago and have always loved working alongside Mrs Botteley as well as some fantastic teaching assistants in Lion class. This year we will have Ms Llewellyn joining us and we are very excited to welcome you in to school and get adventurous with lots of fun learning.
I have two children who are three and one so only very little! We love playing outdoors and going on adventures which mostly result in getting very muddy. As a family we love camping and heading to the seaside when possible. my little girl loves to sing and perform where as my little boy just likes to eat anything he can get his hands on.
My hobbies are swimming, cycling and running when I can find time. I also love to read books as well as drink a nice cup of tea with a piece of cake. I’m really looking forward to meeting you new Lions and finding out all about things that you like to do.
