In our collective worship time this week the children were introduced to a mosaic that was presented to the UN called ‘The Golden Rule’. The mosaic is made up of people from all different part of the world and represents many different cultures and beliefs. On the picture is also a verse from the Bible that says, ‘Treat others and you would want to be treated.’ All of the different member countries of the UN have agreed to try to live by ‘The Golden Rule’ we discussed that if everyone was respectful towards others and lived by ‘The Golden Rule’ then the world would be a more caring community.
As part of our Sporting Superstars theme, we were also inspired by the GB sprinter Dina Usher-Smith. Dina is the fastest British women in history and has even had a Barbie doll made of her to inspire more girls to get involved in sport and respect themselves. We look forward to seeing how she does in the upcoming Olympic Games.
