  • Caring Community - Enrichment Day - Gratitude Jars

    Fri 24 May 2024 G Jones

The last day of Term 5 saw the children visiting new classrooms and staff for their enrichment sessions. The staff mostly focused on thinking about how amazing our world is, how we can treat it with respect, showing gratitude and thanks and learning about other cultures.

The children loved making gratitude jars and thankful hands, thank you card for residents at Cleve Lodge, art out of things grown in our school grounds, wonderful creations out of plastic bags and Rangoli patterns amongst other things.

Thank you to the staff for being so creative and well prepared for the sessions on the last day of term.

  • Inspired to live life to the full - Prayer Space

    Fri 24 May 2024 G Jones

To complete what has been a truly inspiring week, we had two days of prayer spaces organised and implemented by some wonderful volunteers from Christ Church.

We feel so fortunate to have such caring people who do what they do for our children to be able to explore the world around them, sharing what they feel thankful for and saying prayers if they chose to.

Thank you so much to Harriet Jolly and her team for giving our children really meaningful experiences in a safe and famliar environment.

  • Inspired to live life to the full - Art Gallery at CCD

    Thu 23 May 2024 A Martin

Thank you so much to everyone who was able to come along to our art gallery after school today, it was wonderful to see the children’s hard work being enjoyed and celebrated.

The children demonstrated how inspired they have been by Jungle Jonathan and our wonderful world and we really hope you find somewhere special at home to display their art.

Huge thanks to Mr Jones for planning such an inspiring project and to our talented artists

  • Courageous Learning - Jungle Jonathan Visit

    Wed 22 May 2024 G Jones

It is safe to say that the children (and staff!) absolutely LOVED Jungle Jonathan’s visit to school on Monday and Tuesday this week to kick start our Wonder Week.

We saw so many children being courageous learners as they got very close to the fascinating creatures and we were very impressed by how well they listened and behaved.

Jonathan told us several times what a lovely school and children we have and he so enjoyed his time at CCI.

Thank you once again to our Friends for funding this event and to you all for supporting events and donating so generously to make this possible.

  • Inspired to live life to the full - EYFS and Y1 Disco

    Thu 16 May 2024 A Martin

Thank you so much to our brilliant Friends team once again, especially DJ Luke, for running two amazing discos for our EYFS and Y1 children tonight. The children had an amazing time and it was lovely to see them dancing and charging about together.

Thank you to everyone for supporting this event - Y2s will be next term!

  • Caring Community - Visit to Cleve Lodge Residential Home

    Mon 13 May 2024 G Jones

Miss Gould and Mrs Fussell took our Y1 choir members and some Pandas along to visit the residents at Cleve Lodge residential home today. They sang and read stories to the residents there and generally made Miss Gould’s heart sing with the kindness and love that they showed to the lovely folk they met. The care went both ways and it was lovely to make some new connections.

CCI’s caring community at its best

  • Courageous Learning - Trip to the SS Great Britain

    Wed 08 May 2024 A Martin

All of the children in Year 1 and Year 2 had the opportunity to go and explore Brunel's SS Great Britain. Here are some fabulous photos of them enjoying their trip to the SS Great Britain to learn about how Brunel changed Britain.

These photos really do show how venues like this provide so much more for school trips so the children learn so much even if they have visited before.

Thank you to Mrs Rylands for organising these trips and to our many helpers who came long on the day.

  • Inspired to live life to teh full - Playing on the field

    Wed 08 May 2024 A Martin

We finally made it to the school field for our playtimes after what has felt like months of rain! It felt so special and the children were very excited!

It was helpful that Y2s were on their trip so that it was a bit quieter for EYFS to get used to the new routine.

  • Courageously learning: Spirituality and RE in EYFS

    Tue 07 May 2024 A Martin

Today our EYFS children were learning about the creation story as part of their RE, when they were being philosophers.

They also shared spiritual moments of cloud gazing, blowing bubbles thinking about where they’d go if they could float anywhere on one, exploring how beetroot seeds look and grow and decorating the Rainbow Fish thinking about valuing everyone.

What a special morning showing off our RE provision to a Challenge Support Partner, who was guided expertly by our RE lead, Mrs Jenkins.
