  • Courageous Learning - Sports Day

    Tue 25 Jun 2024 A Martin

Well that was a hot sports day!

I’m afraid I didn’t get every class as a whole for the photos but I hope you can see a flavour of our brilliant sports day here.

Thank you so much to all of the families who came along (some even twice!), to the children who were amazing, to the staff for helping the children and to Miss Mackay for planning the day.

Special mentions go to Mrs Rylands for organising ice lollies and to the parents who took part in the relays.

CCI, you are a great community and days like this are so fun because of what you all bring.

  • Living life to the full - Circus Skills

    Mon 24 Jun 2024 A Martin

Our annual sports week started with a great deal of excitement today as the children all had a Circus Skills workshop.

Every child was inspired to live their life to the full today as Steve taught them new skills and the CCI staff and their friends supported them to have a go.

Miss Mackay - thank you so much for arranging this and once again to the Friends who funded this.

  • Courageous Learning - International Writing Day

    Fri 21 Jun 2024 G Jones

Our EYFS children so enjoyed being inspired by and working with some of our Y6 children this week on National Writing Day. They worked 1:1 or in small groups to help the children to plan and write their stories. Some of our EYFS children were a bit scared of the 'giants' but the Y6 children soon put them at ease and were so wonderful with them.

Thank you to Mrs Mills and CCJ for making this happen.

  • Courageous Learning - Blood Hound Project

    Mon 17 Jun 2024 G Jones

Y1 and 2 children became engineers today as they had an amazing visit from Bloodhound Education Ltd. The children learnt about what would make their K’Nex cars the most aerodynamic and to travel at speed. We also tested whether any cars could race faster than Jasper...not many could!

We would like to thanks the Friends once again for funding this wonderful engineering opportunity and to Mrs Rylands for organising it.

What a way to start the week!

  • Courageous Learning - Mad Olympiad

    Thu 13 Jun 2024 A Martin

Our Y2 children did themselves proud at the Olympiad at Pomphrey Hill today

It was a challenging morning due to the late arrival of several schools, slightly chaotic organisation, the event running over so late that our coaches nearly left us there and medals being given to the wrong children but all in all we had a great morning.

Huge well done to all of the children, but I’d especially like to give a shout out to Theo and Aveyah for their brilliant sprint races, Edward and Archie for their excellent egg and spoon races and both of our relay teams, who were absolutely superb

We have never been in a situation where both of our teams reach the relay final and for one to place and the other not to is hard to handle.

All of the children will get medals to say a huge well done. These will be ready to give to them next week, which will hopefully show them how proud we all are.

I’m delighted to say that CCJ won so many events in the afternoon and won the whole of the juniors event!

If there was a trophy for the team with the most enthusiasm we’d smash it every time….’CCI, CCI, CCI!’

Thanks to all of the staff as ever and to the parents who came along to support us.

  • Inspired to live life to the full - Lego Club

    Wed 12 Jun 2024 A Martin

Seeing children of all ages and from different classes come together at Lego Club is a really wonderful thing. Luke had the children absolutely gripped this week as they tested whether they had managed to make their models float or sink.

Luke - our children are so lucky to have you!

  • Courageous Learning - Little City at Christ Church

    Wed 12 Jun 2024 G Jones

Our EYFS children had the BEST time today at 'Little City' at Christ Church. This was a huge pop-up of a range of cleverly created realistic role play areas that the children would find in the real world around them. The carefully planned zones linked brilliantly to our enquiries of 'How can we care for animals?' and 'Who helps us?' but most of all the children had such a brilliant time doing grown-up jobs that they may like to do when they grow up.

Huge thanks once again to our Friends team for funding this (and you as parents for your many donations to give the Friends the funds to do so), Miss Robbins for arranging this and to Christ Church (especially Maggie) for letting us use the Church.

If you ever wonder what the Friends do - they make amazing things like this possible!!!!
