To start off our first topic this year on pirates we had a visit from Pirate Attack, The children just loved it and we learnt all about Blackbeard - as he came from Bristol, we walked the plank and took part in some other pirate activities. We can't wait to find out lots more on Pirates this term!
We have had a beautiful new animal mural painted out by Rowan class. Each of the new animal class names are in the picture. We are very lucky to have some talented staff at school that have made this possible, so many thanks to Mr Atkinson, Ms LLewellyn and Ms Fricker - you have done us proud with an amazing work of art.
On Friday 13th July we said a goodbye to Emma King. Emma has been involved with school life for many years through the church link and by running our Friday Thing bible club. Emma and her family have now moved out of the area so will be leaving us. We wish them all well with the new adventures and challenges to come.
The year 2 children had a fantastic time at the MaD Olympiad today, they showed some amazing team work and even managed to win some medals! Full pictures in the Recent Events page.
On Saturday 16th June our school choir were invited to sing up by the Bean Tree Cafe at Page Park. They did an amazing job and really enjoyed being able to perform to a different audience. Thank you to everyone that came along to support us.
On Saturday 16th June some of the year 2 children supported by Mrs Baddeley and Ms Robbins took part in the Festival of Youth Sport. We were very proud of how they worked as a team and they came third overall in the competition. Thank you to the parents that came along and supported us.
We were delighted to welcome the staff from Aviva into school today for their Community Challenge day. They worked really hard to brighten up our outside spaces with tidying the large planters, cleaning up by the back gate, painting the picnic benches and painting an awesome new mural. A massive thank you to Sheryl Stenner and the team from Aviva and our super talented staff members for the animal drawings.
