August 2021 to August 2022.
Due to reviewed guidance that has been sent to schools we will unfortunately no longer be able to invite Y2 family members to watch the Leavers’ production in the Church. We are so disappointed but have to prioritise everyone’s safety and ensure we are water tight in our risk assessment. Instead we would like to invite one adult per child to the field to see the children receive their leavers’ bears and to hear staff something about each child’s journey at CCI.
Guidance now says that we can have up to 30 people outside at leavers events but not inside, hence the change. We will still film the productions for you and are so sorry to have to make this necessary change;
Mon 12th July at 2.15pm Penguin Leavers’ bears on field
Thu 15th July at 2.15pm Zebra Leavers’ bears on field
Fri 16th July at 2.15pm Cheetah Leavers’ bears on field
We will be having a CCI Music Carnival on Friday 9th July! The children have been practising our chosen song 'Waving Flag' throughout the term and they are very excited to perform it with their class. Miss Gould will be recording it and creating a CCI music video to share with you all. Please let the office know if you do not want your child to be recorded. This should be a lovely way to celebrate music and performance at CCI!
South Gloucestershire will be running activities and food clubs between 26 July and 28 August, for children aged 5 to 16 years who live in our district. Places are free for children on free school meals. You can pay for your child to attend if they don't get free school meals. Find out more information please follow the link-

All schools in South Glos are invited to engage in a Safeguarding compliance inspection to make sure we are doing everything we can to safeguard our children and to help to prepare for external inspections. We had ours this week and the findings were extremely positive and our webpage was praised and will be shared as a good example for other schools (well done Mr Jones!).
Are you considered to be in the armed forces? If you are, then your child could be eligible for Service Pupil Premium, this is paid to schools in recognition to the specific challenges children from service families face and as part of the commitment to delivering the armed forces covenant.
What a week this has been!!!! Sports week is officially my favourite week of the year but I can safely say that Mrs Botteley has arranged the best sports week we have ever had with so many different sports for children to learn about and try and a great selection of people to inspire them. The highlights have been;
rugby with Jonathan Mills
football and playing with respect with Bristol Rovers
hockey skills with Tim Martin
football with Downend Saints
Tokyo Olympics with Progressive Sports
Dance workshops with Miss Gould
skipping workshops
Sports Day
The children have demonstrated incredible resilience and respect this week and I have been so proud with how they have tried new things with courage and have encouraged each other. Competition in sport can be really tricky to manage when you are little and some children have found it easier than others this week but I know that all of them will have done something new this week and hopefully they have been inspired to keep going. Special thanks to Mrs Botteley, Jonathan Mills, Jade Milbourne and Miss Gould for helping make this a brilliant week. The cricket workshops have been rearranged for another day later in the term.
The COVID symptoms we all need to be aware of have also been added to as the Delta variant seems to have the following symptoms so please also be mindful of these;
Headache
Sore throat
Runny nose
With hay fever being so severe at the moment this is very difficult to identify so if in doubt keep children off school and book a test for peace of mind. The other symptoms of a high temperature, persistent cough and loss of sense of taste or smell will still be relevant.
