  Dear Parents and Carers,

   

  You will know by now that the Government are in the process of making some changes to how schools are to move out of isolation.  I wanted to email to let you know what we know and what we are thinking. 

   

  At this point we know no more than you but are extremely surprised and disappointed that our Y2s have not been mentioned, especially as this is a transition year for them (although we do recognise that Infant schools are in the minority).  We are also surprised that our youngest children have been prioritised as they will definitely find social distancing harder, making this more unsafe and comfortable for staff. 

   

  We have been told that we will hear more from the Local Authority tomorrow and I am then talking to our Hub heads on Wednesday to discuss how we may make plans for this possible change.

   

  As soon as I know more I will contact you and inform you of what our plan is.

   

  We are also very aware that not all of you will want to send your children back to school and we will be carrying out a survey once we know more to find out who will so that we have a better idea on numbers.  We don’t know this but we assume you won’t be expected to send your children back if you don’t feel it’s safe for them or your family. 

   

  As ever my priority is to keep my staff and your children safe so we will be keeping this in the forefront of our minds whilst we make any plans.

  I just wanted to show some love for this incredible lady! Karen Davis you are doing so much for our school community through free online classes and just general amazingness that you are doing out of the goodness of your heart and we love you for it!  You are even taking the time to reach out personally to offer support to staff members’ families who live nearby to help them too. Our very own Joe Wickes (but way better looking), we are lucky to have you in our CCI family and we can’t imagine lockdown without you ❤️❤️

  This article is about our very own Xavi and his incredible mummy doing some incredible work to help the local community. He is the youngest volunteer for Humanitarian in Bristol and is demonstrating what a thoughtful young man he is.

  His mum was concerned about his safety and whether this was the right thing to do but he has been extremely well protected by Humanitarian and is so keen to carry out constant selfless acts with safe barriers in place. Xavi even emptied his own money box to buy gifts for the children they were helping.

  Xavi we are all extremely thankful to you and you get a triple Headteacher’s award...something no one has ever received! 🏅🏅🏅

• Free School Meals

  Free School Meals
  Families are being urged to check if their children are eligible for free school meals as the coronavirus crisis creates more hardship. If your salary is reduced as a result of changes caused by the COVID-19 crisis, you may be eligible for support.

  South Gloucestershire Council is appealing to hard-pressed families to make sure they do not miss out on free food for their children – even if they are not currently in school. For vulnerable children and children of key workers who are eligible and currently in school, meals will be provided as part of the school day. Eligible children who are at home are entitled to receive food vouchers. Details of the eligibility criteria are available at the following link that can be found here:

• CSET Virtual Cross country

  We came 4th overall in the CSET cross country competition this week - let’s go for it next week and make top 3! Not that I’m competitive at all...😂🙈

  Year 1 and 2 have to run 800m which is done on an 8m strip and you have to do 100 lengths/laps. My son beat me when we did this for his school last week which was embarrassing but fun to do as a family challenge. Older siblings in KS2 need to do 125 laps this week.
