Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
A few photos of our new EYFS children enjoying their first lunchtime as we don’t have permission in place for many to have their photos shared yet.
We are so impressed with our wonderful new children already as they are playing so well together, asking for help when they need it and following instructions really well.
These 5 Zebra Y2 children came from three different Y1 classes and really enjoyed making this friendship paper chain together. A really wonderful example of our Term 1 value of ‘Friendship’ and why mixing the classes can be a really positive way of making new friends. Well done for starting the term so positively!
End of year disco 2024 - what an amazing way to celebrate our wonderful Y2 children.
Thanks so much to DJ Luke, the wonderful Friends and the fabulous staff who helped to run the disco and generally dance and have fun with the children.
Highlights were the giant conga all the way around the school, soaking the kids with water to cool them down and the sweets. Great fun!
We would like to say a HUGE well done to our Y2 children today for their incredible leavers performance. They absolutely smashed it and we are so proud of every single one of them.
It was emotional to say the least as it’s always so hard to say goodbye when we have seen how far they have come under the guidance of our fabulous team and with such supportive families.
Thank you to everyone for coming along to support the children and to the Y2 staff who did an incredible job. We really hope the children enjoyed it despite the odd tear and enjoy cuddling their bears this evening
Eco Team have made the most fabulous art using the recycled bottle tops that you all kindly donated. Not only have they shown the school that we can turn rubbish into art but they have also given us some very clear messages about showing respect to our world through their art.
These will be proudly be displayed once the glue has dried! Thank you to Miss Chevassut for leading such a worthwhile project and one of our extra clubs.
We had so much fun yesterday with 'Bubble Bach' yesterday when Miss Gould booked the brilliant duo for some music enrichment workshops, using the funds raised by choir after school club.
They played classical music from Johann Bach whilst creating the most beautiful bubbles. The children were transfixed by this as it is so rare that we have musicians in school but adding bubbles into the mix really blew them away! So inspiring for all of our musicians!
The wonderful Miss Rudd, from Panda Class, doing a good deed today with the help of Panda Class #CaringCommunity
We received this message from Kingswood Court Care Home....
Thank you to Christ church school for personally delivering hand made cards for our resident Joyce on her 107 birthday. We are delighted that the children worked very hard . We are very grateful. #BarchesterTogether #barchesterhealthcare #carehomes #kingswood #ChristChurchSchool
Well that was a hot sports day!
I’m afraid I didn’t get every class as a whole for the photos but I hope you can see a flavour of our brilliant sports day here.
Thank you so much to all of the families who came along (some even twice!), to the children who were amazing, to the staff for helping the children and to Miss Mackay for planning the day.
Special mentions go to Mrs Rylands for organising ice lollies and to the parents who took part in the relays.
CCI, you are a great community and days like this are so fun because of what you all bring.
Our annual sports week started with a great deal of excitement today as the children all had a Circus Skills workshop.
Every child was inspired to live their life to the full today as Steve taught them new skills and the CCI staff and their friends supported them to have a go.
Miss Mackay - thank you so much for arranging this and once again to the Friends who funded this.
Our EYFS children so enjoyed being inspired by and working with some of our Y6 children this week on National Writing Day. They worked 1:1 or in small groups to help the children to plan and write their stories. Some of our EYFS children were a bit scared of the 'giants' but the Y6 children soon put them at ease and were so wonderful with them.
Thank you to Mrs Mills and CCJ for making this happen.
